How your family becomes cartoon stars
- You add photos in the app, only after agreeing to this.
- We check each photo for a face on our own server.
- The photos go to OpenAI or Google Gemini only to draw your family's characters.
- They are not used to train AI models and never shown outside your account.
- You can remove photos, withdraw consent or delete everything at any time.
What happens, step by step
- You agree first. Before the first photo goes up, and before "Generate characters", the app shows what is sent, to whom and why. It offers Agree and continue or Not now. "Not now" sends nothing. On a child's profile, a grown-up check comes first. Your answer is saved once for your bukkid account, so it covers your other devices and the bukkid books app too.
- You choose the photos. For each family member: a face photo, and optionally a full-body photo and profile views, which help get clothes and hair right.
- We check them. A face check runs on our own server; nothing is sent anywhere for this.
- The characters are drawn. The photos and drawing instructions are sent to the image service we use, OpenAI or Google (Gemini). They draw a cartoon version of each person in the bukkid style.
- Rhymes are made. Your family's characters are placed into the rhymes your plan includes. The videos appear in your account on every screen.
What the image services may do
We use OpenAI's and Google's paid developer services, under business terms that let them use the photos only to give us the drawing. They don't use them to train their models. They may keep request data for a short time to detect abuse, as their terms describe. We send only the photos and instructions needed for each drawing, never your WhatsApp number or account details.
What we keep
- Your photos and your family's characters, poses and videos, while your account is open, so new rhymes can be made without asking for photos again.
- A record of your consent: the version of the words you agreed to, when, and in which app.
We never sell your photos or characters, never use them in our marketing without asking you, and never show them outside your family's account.
Your choices
- Remove or replace a photo in My family. A removed photo stops appearing and stops being used. A face that a character was already drawn from can be replaced, not just removed.
- Withdraw consent by writing to support@bukkid.tv; in the bukkid books app it's under Account. No new drawing happens after that. Characters already made stay until you remove them or delete the account.
- Delete everything by deleting your account (how). Photos, characters and videos are erased within 7 days.
Whose photos you may add
Only your own family's: photos you took or may use, with the permission of every adult in them, of children you're the parent or guardian of (or have that person's permission for). See the Terms of Use.
